1.Q: How do I become a member?
A: We offer several different membership options depending on what you wish to accomplish by using our service. Click on the “Services” page and choose a membership level that best suites your needs. You will then be prompted to select a user name and password which will become your access to the site. Your payment (if required) will be completed by our secured VeriSign process and you will be notified immediately of your membership.

2.Q: How do I start a project?
A: Simply choose the membership option that best fits your needs on the “Services” page and follow the step by step instructions to purchase a membership. Once your membership is active – choose the “Projects” section.

3.Q: What exactly is a project?
A: A project is a specific area of interest within a residential environment, such as living room, dining room, bedroom, kitchen, etc. The work done on each project depends on your specific needs and what you wish to accomplish within the space. Some people just need advice and help in order to pull everything together and create a cohesively designed space. Others need assistance with every aspect of a space including furniture selection, paint, lighting and accessories. Please note that membership packages include consultation with the Design Team, items such as floor plans and renderings are available at an additional charge.

4.Q: What is a special project?
A: A special is an area of interest that does not relate to a specific area within your home. A special project can include advice and suggestions on a dinner party, a special occasion or help with bridal registry. A special project can also include advice on other special events held at you home or elsewhere, such as a wedding or a bridal or baby shower.

5.Q: How much time do I need to complete a project?
A: The amount of time needed to complete a project depends on the level of detail involved within the project and your own schedule. Obviously a project that involves new or different details such as flooring, paint, furniture, etc. may take longer to complete. Other projects that involve minor changes will not be as time consuming and can be completed is less time. Please note that there are specific time constraints relating to each membership level. Therefore make sure you choose the membership level that will accommodate your time frame to complete your projects.

6.Q: How do I communicate with the Design Team about a project?
A: Sign in using your account user name and password. Once you are signed in, the "My Account" screen will appear indicating your membership level and projects contracted. Simply click the "View" button and the Project Summary page will appear which includes all projects. Next, select the project you want to work on by clicking the "View this Project" button. NOTE: You must enter your communication and select "Submit Query" in order to communicate with the Design Team.

7.Q: When is a project complete?
A: A project is complete once all the specific questions for which you sought the Design Team’s help on are answered and/or responded to by our team. The choice is yours to actually do the work or have the work done as suggested by our Team during the actual term of your membership. We will close a project and consider it complete once all of your questions have been answered. Therefore, in order to take full advantage of our services, we recommend that you take the appropriate actions to work on and complete a project while your membership is active.

8.Q: How do I upload a file/ picture?

A: In order to upload/ send a picture or a text file, simply locate the "Files Upload" section on the right side of the control panel while in “My Account”. Then select the “Browse” button which will enable you to select a file from your computer. Once you select a file, click the “Submit” button and your file will upload. Please note that the file must not exceed 2MB in order for the system to accept the transfer.

9.Q: What is the Hint?

A: Hint is a personal reminder of the answer for your secret question in order to obtain your login information. For example if your secret question is “what is your favorite color?” and the answer is green, your hint could be trees. The information you enter is private and secure, so you will be the only one with access to your answers.

 

10.Q: How do I contact Support about a question regarding the site?
A: There are several options in order to contact Support. 1) You may send an inquiry or question while signed in under your account in the Projects area. 2) You may send an email directly to info@GurusofDesign.com. 3) You may contact us during between 9am and 6pm EST Monday through Friday at 305-572-9566.
